Technique Tuesday!

I had a lot of fun coming up the cards for March's class. Our next class will be on April 21st at 7pm, come join us and bring your friends!!!

Quilt Card
I have seen these cards on splitcoast and various blogs but had not tried it yet. I decided it would be a fun technique for March's class. The squares were done using the paper pack from the level 1 hostess incentives. We punched them using the 1 1/4" square punch and layered onto a piece of white cardstock. I then ran it through the big shot using the Top Note Die. We used the basic black marker to give it some "stitching" The stamp set used is our level 1 hostess set Comfort Foods, a perfect one for this card. Colors used were pink pirouette, basic gray, regal rose, so saffron and whisper white.

The second card we created was Faux Cloissonne. It was a very simple technique. We used the Fifth Avenue Floral and stamped it onto a page of a magazine using Versamark ink. We then covered it with gold embossing powder, heated and cut out. A very neat looking technique.

I used pages from a diving magazine that was in the mail.

The final card technique came from my monthly Stampin' Success Magazine. If you would like access to this media give me a call or email me about the amazing opportunity of being a demonstrator.
The technique is called a Hinge card. The base of the card is 4.25 x 5.5. We then attached the bottom piece to the top and glued down the designer paper. You don't want to tape down the top piece or it won't move. The movement comes from the brad that is adhered to the top and bottom pieces.

Stamp set was Cheep Talk, colors were Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Ruby Red and Old Olive. The designer paper is Sweet Slumber.

If you would like more information on the cards seen send me an email and I will be happy to share with you!!! Also if you would like to join me next month let me know the Sunday before the class. Next month we will be creating a double slider, working with glitter and.....come and see!

Cute Treat Purse!

I am so excited about this creation! I got my idea from Crazy Stamp Girl. Her owl purse was too cute and I had to try my own. The bear was created using almost all of my circle punches.
Head: 1 1/4" circle in Chocolate chip
Ears: 1/2" circle in Creamy Caramel
Eyes: 1/4" circle in Whisper White
Snout: 3/4" circle in Creamy Caramel
Nose: 1/4" circle in Basic Black
Body: 1 3/4" circle in Chocolate Chip
Belly: 1" circle in Creamy Caramel
Hands: 1/2" circle in Creamy Caramel
I sponged the caramel pieces with chocolate chip ink. I used a distresser for the body and head to make him appear more fuzzy. The eyes, mouth and claws are done using the basic black marker.
The inside opens up with Velcro and a cute saying using our Sizzix Naturally Serif Alphabet and Under the Stars grrreat saying. The designer paper is the Good Morning Sunshine paper.
Here is the cutest part...the back of the bear! I am a little too excited about how he turned out. I just need to fill him with some awesome chocolate and give it to a friend!

Below is a side view of the box. The ribbon is 1/4" grosgrain in Old Olive.
I have not decided but this just may be the third project for my "Punch It Up Thursday" or I may do it for "Technique Tuesday"....Come to both to find out! :-)
"Technique Tuesday's" are on the third Tuesday of each month and "Punch it Up Thursday's" are on the last Thursday of each month. Email me for more details!

Who Needs a Rabbit?

This idea like the basket came from several cards I have seen on Splitcoast. I had a lot of fun coming up with this one. The chicken was pretty easy to create. The head is 1" circle, Boho Blossoms and small star punches. The body is 1 3/8" circle, wing is small oval and the nest is a large oval with slit punch. I sponged the edges with chocolate chip. The large egg is done using the Creative Memories Oval Cutter. The eggs are the wide ovals.
The inside of the card has computer generated text. I found the saying on a stamped card that was a huge inspiration for this card.

This is another card you can create at my "Punch it Up Thursday" class on March 26th at 7pm. RSVP now to ensure your spot. Remember with the punch it up class you get to create the projects as well as an instruction card for the punched critter.

Scallop Envelope Easter Basket

How cute is this? I got the idea from several cards that I saw on blogs and splitcoast. I took the card ideas and made it 3-D!
The basket is done in Baja Breeze. The eggs are Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Barely Banana. The handle is Pretty in Pink as well as the Easter tag. The rabbit is done in Whisper white and pretty in pink pastels. The body is 1 3/8" circle and the feet are small ovals. The tail is a piece of cotton from a cotton ball.
The eggs were speckled with Itty Bitty Backgrounds. The handle is done using the crimper.

If you love this then join me on March 26th at 7pm for my "Punch it Up Thursday" class. We will be creating this cute basket as well as two other projects.

Top Note Purse

My stamping friend Valerie came over last week and this is what she wanted to create. We had a lot of fun putting this one together. She got the purse idea from one of our favorite bloggers Inking Idaho. We used the colors basic gray, baja breeze and kiwi kiss for the tote. The cards are all originals from Valerie.
